The Covid-19 pandemic has not ended yet. To make things worse, the new variant, Omicron, is making waves worldwide. While some vaccines might be effective against the new variant, it’s hard to say anything now. Wearing masks, good hygiene, and social distancing are a few things that will help you protect yourself from the virus. While no food or supplement has been proven to cure the disease, there’s nothing wrong with keeping your immunity strong. And, here are 5 everyday foods you can easily include in your diet to boost immunity.

1. Garlic: It’s hard to find a cuisine that does not include garlic as an ingredient. Rich in sulfur-containing compounds, garlic helps fight infections. You’ll be surprised to know that it may help lower blood pressure and slow down the hardening of arteries as well.

2. Citrus Fruits: Limes, oranges, lemons, or tangerines, all citrus fruits that contain Vitamin C, help build immunity. Vitamin C helps produce white blood cells that fight infections. Proper intake of citrus fruits may help your recover from cold faster. Sadly, there’s no evidence that it will help cure Covid-19.

3. Ginger: A common ingredient in Asian cuisine, ginger is excellent against inflammation. Hence, it may help you recover from sore throat and inflammatory diseases. It may also help you get relief from chronic pain and lower cholesterol.

4. Spinach: Spinach gives Popeye energy, and you can get it too! It contains Beta Carotene, various antioxidants, and vitamin C that help strengthen your immune system to fight infections. Just don’t overcook it to retain its nutrients.

5. Almonds: Feel like munching? Replace those crackers and chips with almonds. A great source of vitamin E, almonds help boost immunity.
